Almost one! | Portland Family Photographer

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

I had the pleasure to shoot this adorable almost-one-year-old this weekend with his parents. He just has the sweetest disposition and is so happy. Little Man is all boy too – he loved being tossed around by Daddy, snuggled by Mommy, and exploring his surroundings – especially when there were rocks to be touched. I have to say it felt wonderful being able to shoot outdoors again. We really lucked out and were able to enjoy a gorgeous sunny afternoon.

To his proud parents – congratulations on making such a wonderful little boy. Happy Birthday, little guy.

Can you believe that expression! Learning to walk is sooooo much fun!

He would have much rather been digging in the dirt than being in the middle of a kiss sandwich at this point.

What little boy doesn’t love being thrown up in the air by his Daddy. So cute.

I think this is my favorite photo from the session. Gorgeous Mommy and her sweet baby.

A huge “1″ balloon + a cold windy winter afternoon = one difficult shot to get. :) He was so cold by this point but he was such a trooper, putting up with us adults and my camera.

Just look at those lips. So cute.

Those beautiful big eyes | Portland Newborn Photographer

Monday, January 18th, 2010

I had a great session yesterday with this beautiful family. I was a little worried about being able to get them a ton of great shots to choose from because their little ones are both tough ages to photograph – 5 weeks and 2.5 years – but they were great. Besides, how is it possible to get a bad photograph with such gorgeous children? I really put my new camera body to the test with the dark rainy dreary Oregon light coming through the windows, but it handled beautifully. No flash required!

Here’s a quick preview… off to go edit the rest! Congratulations on your little princess!

She has the most inquisitive eyes and LOVES the big windows in their home.

This started off by us wanted to get a family photo of them all together on the bed, which we did get, but I couldn’t pass up how adorable this little man was while mom, dad and his little sister snuggled up in the background.

She is so teeny tiny. I love it.

Even the dog is beautiful in this family!

Have you ever seen such big beautiful eyes on such a little baby? So precious.

These make me smile.

The family has this same photo taken in front of their front door from last year. How sweet will it be to put this photo in a frame right next to it showing off their newest addition.

And of course I adore the macro shots. I think the hand is my new favorite photo. I can’t look at it without saying “aaahhhhhhhh”.

Love this family photo | Portland Family Photographer

Two grandparents, six children with their spouses, 11 grandchildren including five under the age of one. Is it possible to get one good photo with everyone looking at the camera with a good expression on their face? I suppose its possible… but its much easier with a little headswapping and some photoshop magic. After 35 photos and 11 headswaps, here’s the final product of an amazing family photo with 25 people.

Bet you can’t tell who’s head was swapped, can you?

Sweet family photos | Portland Family Photographer

This is the first of many. I just had to edit this one for a quick preview. I swear, this is the most photogenic family I’ve ever seen. Every picture turned out perfectly and their sweet little baby smiled in each one. I shouldn’t bother taking more than one shot for each pose with perfect people like them. :)
