New Addition | Portland Family Photographer

Thursday, November 4th, 2010

It is my pleasure to present the newest member of my family. Isn’t he gorgeous? Sigh, he’s not mine. He’s my nephew. Its actually quite dangerous to have a perfect little newborn around me. It puts ideas in my head. Ideas that my husband who is happy with the number of kids we already have doesn’t like. I can’t help it. That newborn smell. Their little squeaks and noises. That feeling of having them snuggle right up under your chin. Pure magic.

6 days old | Portland Baby Photographer

Friday, September 24th, 2010

I wanted to share a few pics of this little sweetheart. She has the thickest head of black hair and I just loved holding her. I swear, photographing newborns is quite dangerous for me (or my husband, rather). Those little squeaks they make, the soft skin, that itty bitty cry – my heart just melts. If I’m going to stick with only having two kids, I should probably stay away from all babies younger than my own because they just make me want to fill my house up with kids.

Isn’t she just the cutest?

Lavender | Portland Maternity Photographer

Monday, July 12th, 2010

I love living in Oregon so much. Yes, the winters are cold and wet and the days are short, but we pay the price for a reason. Summer. The days are long, the weather is warm, the produce is fantastic, and the flowers are amazing. My favorite of all – lavender. We were so lucky to be able to take these photos at the Helvetia Lavender Farm. It is just spectacular up there and the owners are fantastic.

I could gush on and on about this family – they are very near and dear to my heart – but I will just let the photos speak for themselves. I can’t wait to take their newborn photos in a couple months!

Sit back. Relax. Enjoy the endless beauty of an Oregon summer, the maternal glow of a pregnant mom, the pride and joy of a loving father, and one of the cutest little girls I know who will soon be a big sister.

8 days new | Portland Newborn Photographer

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

I was so excited to do these photos. It had been about 6 weeks since my last newborn session and I needed a fix. Bad. I just adored holding this tiny little sweet princess. She was born 3 weeks early and was so teeny tiny. Her head was so small and her limbs were so skinny. Poor little thing – she was jaundiced from birth and had to have the billy rubin lights on every day, all the time. Needless to say she was as red as a lobster. I should post a before and after to demonstrate the power of photoshop! She really was just perfect and such a sweetheart.

Aren’t the hats just adorable? They are courtesy of the wonderful and very talented Lil Miss Cheeky Etsy shop.

This one was my favorite. Her face looks so much like her dad’s here. I think her older brother and sister look so much like dad too!

I love little round newborn bellies.

And just look at those lips!

I can never decide between color or black and white. I guess that’s why I give everyone both when they get their images. Its just too hard to decide.

She was so comfy squished up in that little ball.

TWINS! | Portland Twin Newborn Photographer

Sunday, February 21st, 2010

I had the pleasure of photographing these beautiful twin boys when they were just 15 days old. You can see their beautiful mama’s maternity photos that I took last month here. These newborn photos just don’t begin to decribe how tiny and unbelievably precious they are. And their hair – my 16 month old doesn’t even have that much hair on his head yet!

I got the most beautiful knit diaper covers from the lovely and talented Joco Couture. She makes the most fabulous hats, diaper covers and wraps and she is always creating new beautiful items for her Etsy shop.

And to the beautiful family – congratulations on your sweet and gorgeous boys!

Here are a couple pullback shots of me in action taken by my friend and talented local photographer, Stephanie Bryan. It was so wonderful having Stephanie there to help with the babies, get things set up, and get a different perspective on angles and poses. Oh wow, do I need a hair cut or what? Oh well… I always find these pullback shots very entertaining so I hope you enjoy them as well.

Insanely Stunning Maternity | Portland Maternity Photographer

Saturday, January 23rd, 2010

Sit back. Relax.

You’re going to need a few minutes to pick your jaw up off the floor after looking at these photos. They are insanely gorgeous. If you can believe it, this stunning mama is 35 weeks pregnant with TWINS! And pretty darn HOT I might add. Just a few days after our session, she had an OB appointment and measured 44 weeks! I’ve been staring at these photos for a week and I still can’t get over them.

Just had to add – I used window light only on a very dark and stormy Oregon winter day. Reason #57 why I love my D700. ISO 1600-3200. Yeah baby!

Can you imagine being pregnant with twins and having a belly this perfect? She didn’t have one stretch mark. Not one!

10lbs 5oz of squishy newborn love | Portland Newborn Photographer

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

I had the honor of photographing this sweet squishy cuddly “little” 11 day old newborn, who weighed in at 10lbs 5oz at birth. You can see her mommy’s maternity photo’s here, taken a little over 3 weeks before little miss made her arrival.

She was the most perfect baby to photograph. She was in a milk coma the entire time and if she started to fuss, a little warm air from the space heater and a gentle rub on her cheek instantly put her back into a deep sleep. I really tried hard to narrow it down to my favorites to post here on the blog, but as you can see there were just too many. I actually have a ton more that I didn’t post!

I was super excited to use my new hats from my favorite knitter. Here’s a link to her Etsy shop if you are intersted: The Funky Hooker

She arrived just in time for Christmas.

I’m a sucker for back fat rolls too. Not on me, of course, but definitely on a squishy newborn.

More newborn goodness | Portland Newborn Photographer

Friday, September 4th, 2009

Oh, how I love to photograph newborns. That smell, that squishy feeling, those little noises. I can’t get enough.

I just love those little footsies trying to poke out.

This 10×20″ collage is a gift for this sweet little girl’s mommy for being such a great helper during her session. I think I’ll bring her along for every newborn session. She got her baby to stay in whatever pose I wanted.

I had the most amazing newborn session today. She was such a sweet little angel. Once she fell into a sound sleep, she was putty in our hands and so comfy with the warm fan blowing on her. Both baby and mommy enjoyed the session, as did the photographer. I have a ton more pictures to edit but here’s a sneak peek… more to come.
