Jinn | Portland High School Senior Photographer

Wednesday, August 25th, 2010

I can’t even begin to tell you what a treat it was to take Jinn’s senior portraits. Not only was she super sweet and had the best laugh, but listening to her play the cello was pure heaven. When I got home, I told my husband about how great it was to hear her play while I took her photos and he said we should hire her just to hang around the house and play beautiful music in the background. :)

I could tell Jinn was beyond excited about entering her final year of high school. She’s one of those kids you just know will be a success at anything she attempts. I’m sure she has a very bright future ahead of her.

Jinn has played at the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall and requested a photo in front of the big Portland sign. Turned out pretty cool, eh? portland high school senior photographer

I LOVE how the backlight picks up the natural red highlights in her hair.

Another one of my favorites. I just about died when I saw that dress. Isn’t it gorgeous?

I swear I could have easily spent hours there listening to her play.

Christopher | Portland High School Senior Photographer

Thursday, June 10th, 2010

I had the best time photographing Christopher. There aren’t too many people out there who are so completely comfortable in front of the camera, but he totally made my job easy. This guy has the best personality and I loved his laugh. Either there weren’t guys like him around when I was in High School, or there were and I just didn’t appreciate them. I love how his personality really shines through in the photos. He plays quite a few instruments and he brought his Euphonium along for some of the shots. If you watch the Rose Parade this weekend, keep your eyes out for this guy and cheer him on!

He was such a goof! Thanks for such a fun photo session, Christopher!

Taylor | Portland High School Senior Photographer

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

WOW. I can’t tell you how thrilled I was to photograph Taylor. I first met her when I moved into the neighborhood six years ago and she was the sweetest little kid who always rode her bike around and stopped to pet my dog. Well, when I was taking my dog and my two kids for a walk last week, I saw Taylor getting into her car and my jaw just dropped. I totally didn’t recognize her – she is so grown up (not quite a senior yet though), not to mention downright gorgeous. I was so happy when Taylor told me she wanted me to take her photos. I knew they would turn out good, but I am seriously thrilled with how they turned out. I was so excited when she mentioned she liked to sing and play guitar; I instantly had so many shots in my head. Prepare yourself – I posted a ton on the blog and there are so many that I haven’t even edited yet.

I truly love photographing babies and toddlers, but it was so much fun shooting a teenager. Taylor brought along her friend, Ayaka, and I got some great shots of the two of them together. I forgot how much giggling teenage girls do. :)

I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I do!

We’ll start off with my favorite from the session. I’m not sure why, but I love everything about this photo.

Ugh. Those eyes. I would seriously kill for lashes like that.

I really felt old after I looked at this photo on my camera and said “Wow, you look like Alicia Silverstone” and they both said “who???”. Was “Clueless” really that long ago? :)

These two reminded me of how much fun I had with my best friend WAY back when I was in High School.
